Your Story Is Too Long — Here's How to Fix It

One of the most common storytelling mistakes leaders make in presentations: they go too long. Public speaking coach Cindy Skalicky explains that a well-placed story in a business presentation should be no more than five or six sentences — short, chiseled, and out. The goal isn't to impress people with your backstory. It's to make a splash, make it relevant, and create a theme you can return to throughout the presentation. Less is almost always more when it comes to business storytelling.
